It all started in 1990, when Tony Lim opened the first Ling Nam Noodle House with a simple dream — to bring the comforting flavors of Binondo, Manila's Chinatown, to the Bay Area.
From the beginning, Ling Nam has been about feel-good Filipino-Chinese food — bowls of steaming House Special Mami, savory Beef and Chicken Mami, hearty Beef Stew Rice, and the iconic Asado, Bola-Bola Siopao, and Siomai that remind everyone of home.

As the years went on, our family continued to adapt and innovate, keeping the spirit of tradition alive while introducing new favorites. Over the years, that willingness to evolve — at one point even expanding into Hong Kong–style BBQ — is what has always kept Ling Nam fresh, relevant, and close to our community's heart. We've never been afraid to try new things in service of bringing people together.

In the late 1990s, Ling Nam had grown to serve multiple Bay Area communities, with full-service restaurants operating in Vallejo and Union City. Though those locations are no longer with us, they stand as a testament to how far Tony Lim’s dream had already reached — and the deep roots Ling Nam had planted across the Bay Area long before today’s expansion.
In 2009, we introduced the beloved Señorita Bread into our stores — a sweet, buttery treat that quickly became a local favorite and introduced Ling Nam to a new generation.

Today, Ling Nam Express is the next chapter of that story — a modern evolution of a beloved family legacy. We're building a new generation of stores that deliver the same warmth and authentic flavors in a fast, fresh, and modern setting.
With our flagship Daly City restaurant, our Tracy location, and two new Ling Nam Express stores coming soon to Union City and South San Francisco, our vision is to bring Filipino-Chinese comfort food to every corner of the Bay Area and beyond.
